How did Languages4Life start?
Languages4Life was launched in 2011 by John MacPeek, a language enthusiast from New York, who found his home in Barcelona. John is a true polyglot and speaks 6 languages fluently (English, Spanish, Catalan, Portuguese, German, French) and is currently studying Greek. He believes learning languages is a life-long passion, hence the name Languages4Life!
His vision was to create a small, high-quality, hi-tech school in Barcelona city centre, combining elements of iconic Barcelona modernism and modern technology, to create a truly unique school. The philosophy from day one has been small groups, personalised approach and excellent customer service, which has made Languages4Life a great success so far!
In 2012 Richard Davie joined John and launched TEFL Iberia, to offer English teacher training courses in Barcelona. His vision resonated exactly with John’s and now TEFL Iberia and the English teacher training department form a key part of Languages4Life.
In 2015 another milestone was reached at the school, with the addition of Maria Blanco and ELE Barcelona, offering Spanish teacher training courses. Her mission was to bring passion and creativity to Spanish teacher training, offering small groups, excellent training and lots of teaching practice.
All three companies now form part of the Languages4Life group and we are proud to offer the full spectrum of languages services in Barcelona – language lessons and teacher training – while maintaining their original principles of small groups, excellent customer service and high-quality teaching.
