Summer is in full swing, and in Barcelona that means there are tons of cool events on that are absolutely free! We’ve rounded up our pick for this month, so get your diary out!
Cinema Lliure a la Platja
There’s a international programme of films on throughout July, screening down on the beach at Barceloneta. With films from Brazil, Israel, France, Britain and Spain, all subtitled in Spanish, and all completely free! Each screening is preceded by music and a short film. Don’t forget to bring a blanket to sit on and a warm cardigan – it can get chilly down there at night. There are also films on in Badalona, El Prat and Matarò if you feel like making the trip out of Barcelona!
6th, 13th, 16th, 20th and 27th of July, Platja de Sant Sebastià
Eat Street Night Mix
The popular street food festival is back with an evening edition in Hospitalet de Llobregat. As well as the usual food trucks offering a range of gastronomic delights, there will also be DJs playing until 3am so you can dance off your dinner!
8th of July, Carrer de Rosalía Castro 11
Flash Mob Water Fight
This annual event happens in Parc de la Ciutadella, where hundreds of participants turn up wearing yellow or blue Tshirts, toting water guns and water balloons, for the biggest water fight in the city. You can find all the details of the event here.
9th of July, Parc de la Ciutadella
Festa Major de Raval
Over the course of four days, the narrow streets and plaças of El Raval are transformed into one big street party. One of our favourite festa majors, this incredibly diverse neighbourhood always hosts a multicultural celebration, with food, music and performers from all over the world, as well as the traditional Catalan events such as the correfoc and parades of gigants. The full details of the programme haven’t been released yet, but keep an eye on the Adjuntament webpage where the programme will be posted.
13th to the 16th of July, around El Raval
Barcelona hosts one of Europe’s biggest Pride parties every year. There are a ton of fun events on across the city over the next week, including a Miss Drag Gala, a foam party, a vermuteria and of course the main event – the Pride parade on Saturday. We posted a blogpost with all the details last week but if you missed it you can find full details of all the events here.
Until July 9th
