Support a good cause at Summer Sants System

Another month, another free festival! This time Sants are hosting the party. This day-long festival is a fundraiser for Syrian refugees, so not only do you get to dance to reggae in the sunshine – you also get to support a good cause! Celebrate World Environment Day

It’s World Environment Day on June 5th, and to raise awareness Turisme de Barcelona is organising two activities. The first one is a beach clean up at Nova Icaria. Volunteers will meet at a xiringuito at 9am and spend the morning cleaning the beach. The second activity is a walk through Montjuic with expert botanist guides who will point out all the interesting flora. The walk leaves from Plaça España at 5pm and takes around 2 and a half hours. Explore the art of Catalan illustrator Pere Torné Esquius

On until the 9th of July, this exhibition at MNAC explores the work of Barcelona-born painter and illustrator Pere Torné Esquius. A contemporary of both modernisme and noucentism, his singular work doesn’t fit into either of these categories, instead reflecting strong French influences and a naive primitivism. As a professional illustrator he contributed to childrens’ books, literary texts and magazines, often satirical ones, and his illustrations are also included in this exhibition. The first Sunday of the month is free, so get down and check it out!
