How many hours can I work on a student visa?

Officially up to 20 hours per week on an internship contract.

Do I need to sign up to 7 months?

If you would like to work in Barcelona, yes. This is the minimum amount of time required by the Spanish government in order to qualify for a long-term student visa, which will allow you to work legally. You can study for less time if you like and get a 3-6 month student visa, but you will not be allowed to work.

How long does it take to process a student visa?

It varies from country to country but on average you should give yourself 2 months from start to finish.
